About Us

Gerard Suttie

Owner and Managing Director

From our humble beginnings in a small rented
share factory in Mordialloc, Owner and Managing
Director, Gerard Suttie, spent over a decade
working as a diesel mechanic until he shifted
gears and purchased his first injection moulding
machine, a JM4 100 Tonne with tooling, and began moulding billiard table accessories while he maintained his diesel mechanic business until the mid-90's.

Gerard's experience in toolmaking began as an apprentice at Elmaco Pty Ltd in the 1970's, although not long after he completed his qualification his career path diverted to diesel mechanics where he applied his skills working in the transport industry with his father and eventually became self employed with his own business.

PMG Engineering Services Pty Ltd was established in April 1994 after Gerard decided that there was only so much he could do with a pair of hands, and remain competitive in the then-struggling automotive industry. Once the diesel mechanic business slowed, he decided to focus purely on injection moulding and eventually moved to a larger factory where he spent the first few years adding more machines and staff, and creating a well equipped in-house tool room.

Our operations steadily grew larger over the years and we moved to our current premises in Braeside, with approx. 4,000sqm of manufacturing and warehouse space, and currently employ over 30 people.

We are one of few businesses who provide full service from concept to finished goods, using our own in-house processes to support all stages in the development of a successful product.

Gerard now oversees all operations and business development. This includes ensuring compliance with all manufacturing and industry standards, and maintaining the highest standard of professional conduct with staff and customers.

Damien Simmons

Account Manager

Damien joined the business in 2015, after having

PMG as a customer in a previous Account Manager role.

Damien's current position is Account Manager/Marketing, looking to build the customer base and maintain and service current customers.

Jacqui Suttie

Jacqui joined the family business in 2000
when she completed her VCE and began as
a Machine Operator and Quality Controller in
the Mould Shop.

From 2008, the rapid expansion of PMG Engineering brought new customers and products, our premises doubled, more equipment acquired and we implemented the AspectPL MES Software. As her father Gerard took a step back from daily operations and concentrated on Product Development, Jacqui took control as Production Director and is now in integral member of our management team.

Jacqui ensures that our day-to-day operations run smoothly and efficiently.

Joe Lesjak

Technical Operations Manager

Joe began his career at PMG Engineering in
September 1999, as a tool maker. Now our highly
valuable Technical Operations Manager, he
oversees projects from concept to completion
and is involved in all stages of projects from part

design, tool design and maintenance to the manufacture of precise, high quality tooling and manufacture of the finished product.

"I strive to achieve the best possible outcome in all areas of my career, with particular focus on bringing out the best in my team and to ensure the manufacture of our products remains at a competitive level. I maintain a strong emphasis on customer satisfaction, with our level of expertise and customer service throughout each stage of the project. I love challenges and put 100% effort into what ever is put in front of me."

Bryce Sutton

Bryce has now taken over the Chief Operating Officer position in which he uses his knowledge gained from working all aspects of the company to help run the day-to-day operations of PMG.

I get a great sense of achievement when we get to help bring to life someone’s vision to fruition. Meeting our customers deadlines is very important to me and I ensure we take the necessary steps in planning out every job to make sure those targets are met.”
